The Tamed Tongue and the Transformed Life

Today’s study centres on a small body member that can kill or build a life. It is the carrier of death and life.
We must reflect on our past lives and how we have used this little member. Had we not kept this little member called tongue in the past, what would we like to correct or change now?
The Holy Writ urges us to keep back our tongues from all ungodly actions.
In our text in the book of James, the tongue was associated with fire, and the word appeared four times.
As men can tame animals, only God can tame the ungodly tongues.

The predicament of a tameless tongue and a graceless life can amount to suffering, moral failure, severe experience, and sudden death.

In contrast to an evil tongue given to curses, a blessed tongue impacts lives.

The transformed tongue and a gracious life can be interpreted as the idea of using our words and actions to bring about positive change in our lives and the lives of others.
Words from wholesome tongues have profited many who were downhearted and weary of life; besides, it has delivered many from death.
When the tongues of saints are established in wholesomeness, it results in the salvation of sinners, health to the sick (Proverbs 12:18), upliftment to those in despair, preservation of the souls of believers and hitch-free fellowship among brethren.
The profit of a transformed tongue is peace, purity and power to live a gracious life.
