The Possibilities Of Prayer

The Possibilities of Prayer

Philippians 4:6,7; Psalm 50:15

Sincere believers are often faced with perplexing situations – defying human understanding  and solutions. The Lord knows we would have such encounters in this life and has therefore made provision for our succour and victory.

Prayer is one of the surest ways and weapons for the believer’s victory over perplexing situations; and its possibilities are endless.

“Trouble and perplexity drive me to prayer, and prayer drives away perplexity and trouble” – Fenelon.

1. The Persistent and Perplexing Problems of Life

Job 14:1; 1 Samuel 1:1-8; 2 Chronicles 20:1,2;10-12; Isaiah 37:1-13

Some problems of this life can be persistent and perplexing:

  • Perplexing problems are those that  tend to confuse, confound and puzzle us
  • They often seem overpowering and defy human wisdom and carnal solutions
  • Some perplexing situations may heighten even after prayers; but remember the day can only break after the darkest hour!

“If we prepare ourselves for life’s inevitables, we will not be perplexed by life’s transitions” – Hyles.

2. The Power of Passionate Prayers for  Our Liberation

1 Samuel 1:10-18; 2 Chronicles 20:3-30; Isaiah 37:14-20;33-38

Pray yourself out of persistent and perplexing situations:

  • Pray about everything and worry about nothing
  • Ask in faith and wait patiently in humility
  • God can, but will do nothing except by the prayers of His people
  • God often designs our trials for our triumphs, and our tests for testimonies

“God loves importunate prayer so much that He will not give us much blessing without it” Judson.
