PRIORITY OF DAILY FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
Psalms 42:1-2; Proverbs 8:17
The need of the hour is undisturbed fellowship with God. Believers must prioritize this sweet fellowship.
Forgiveness and freedom from sins give us the confidence to cleave to God in fellowship steadfastly.
It is a daily commitment to be in God’s presence with a willingness to submit to His will.
As the hart prioritized the water brooks to satisfy her longing, believers should put all other things aside to have daily fellowship with God.
Fellowship with God is enriched through consistent prayer and personal study of the word of God.
P1. PURPOSE OF DAILY FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
Ephesians 6:12; Mark 1:35; John 15:1-6; Matthew 6:6; Psalm 59:16; 63:1-2
As Christians, we are not sufficient on our own. We all need the grace and the strength of the Almighty God for daily survival.
There are invisible adversaries that the invisible might of our God can only overcome.
The enemy wants to turn us back from following God till the end.
His purpose is to pursue and overtake us. Still, as we draw closer to God in fellowship, we are better equipped to overcome and remain victorious over temptations and the tempters both at work, in our homes, and our communities.
To not be victims in the battle of life, Christians must cultivate the attitude of regular fellowship with God.
We can only survive these last days as we draw closer to God daily by following spelled-out patterns in the scriptures.
P2. PATTERNS OF ENRICHING FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
Joshua 22:28, Exodus 34: 2, 3; Marks 1:35; Psalm 5:3, 55:17, 100:4; 2 Timothy 2:15; Phil. 4:6; Ephesians 6:12-18
A genuine experience of salvation is a prerequisite for fellowship with God.
For fellowship with God to be rewarding, refreshing, and stimulating, the process must be garnished with spices that make it salivating and stimulating.
It must be in an environment devoid of distractions; worship with inspiring choruses, communion through prayers, and scriptures reading with a prepared heart to obey the commandments in the word of God.
Set a consistent time and place, preferably in the morning and evening; be patient in His presence: choose a quiet place; praise Him to warm up your heart; listen to God by reading a passage from His word; use a notebook, devotional book, Bible dictionary, Bible concordance and complete Bible.
As you read the scripture carefully and reverently, find out: a promise to claim; a sin/mistake to confess; a command to obey; an example to follow; an error to avoid and fresh thoughts about God.
Share what you learn with other Christians.
P3. PROFIT OF ENRICHING FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD
Genesis 32: 24-28, Isaiah 40: 28-31, Joshua 1:8; Matthew 7: 7-11, John 15:7-8
A persistent fellowship with God adds grace, zeal to your Christian life, and spiritual strengths. It gives spiritual power to contend for the faith and overcome adversaries.
An enriching and consistent fellowship will result in believers’ quickened from the dead and alive in the Spirit; unction by the Holy Spirit for great exploit; increase by the Lord in all areas; triumphing over situations and circumstances of life; runaway success in academic and career; consistent victory over the devil and all his agents; daily spiritual freshness; pure life above reproach; consistent Christian living; readiness for Christ’s coming; growing up into Christ; wisdom in handling life challenges.
Satan will try his best to hinder you through sleep, electronic gadgets, and unnecessary engagements, yet you must determine to maintain consistent and quality fellowship with God.
You must dedicate yourself from today and avoid all distractions against profitable fellowship with God.
“In using all means, seek God alone. In and through every outward thing, look only to the power of His Spirit, and the merits of His Son. Beware you do not get stuck in the work itself; if you do, it is all lost labor. Nothing short of God can satisfy your soul. Therefore, fix on Him in all, through all, and above all…”
John Wesley.
